Pain of Salvation Idiocracy Lyrics

Pain Of Salvation - Idiocracy
It was actually a more difficult song to transcribe than I thought, as the intro riffs
two guitars playing what one guitar usually could, as well as the intense layering of
in the verses and choruses. I basically tabbed out what I could, so apologies if
vital is missing. I know I kinda skipped the ending with the acoustic guitar solo and
but it's pretty buried in the piano, so I couldn't quite pick it all out.
Played on seven string guitar tuned (low to high) A E A D G B E
Gtr. 1 (right)
|Gtr. 2 (left) Play twice
Palm mute all open strings for rest of intro.
| Play four times, except
last bar on final repeat.
| Replace harmonics with
muted rakes.
| Play eight times with muting and staccato on octave chords
| Play another eight times louder and without staccato
w/wah-like effect
| Play four times.
clean w/wah effect
|clean w/wah effect
After repeating, Gtr. 1 hits a low A and then plays a fill kind of like this:
This fill reappears many times in the song, sometimes with an altered rhythm.
Lead before chorus
w/dist. *
|--12----------------12--13------------------|--11---------------11--10---13b14.5--------|
*Bend up to an arbitrary pitch somewhere around 1/2 step or 1 step from F.
Both guitars clean, probably with piezo pickup.
(this part I'm still not 100% sure on, but this sounds correct to me)
|--17tr--------------------------15tr--20tr---|--17tr---------------------13tr-----15tr--13tr---|
|--10tr-------5-5tr--------------------10tr---|--10tr----5-5tr-----8tr----8tr--7tr-5tr--3tr-----|
There's probably a million more layers of guitar, but they're buried under vocals,
bass and percussion.
After repeating chorus:
w/dist
|--18tr--------------|------------------------|
|--10tr--------------|------------------------|
| Play four times with muting and staccato on octave chords
| Play another four times louder and without staccato
w/wah-like effect
| Play twice
Then play from verse parts, through to end of chorus.
Outchorus:
(both guitars)
Guitar solo
(w/outchorus played under)
After solo
with variations on the rhythm I'm too lazy to tab out.
Outro is all piano and a bit of acoustic guitar soloing. It's all based in the A minor
boxes at the fifth and tenth frets, and is quite buried beneath the piano, making it
to transcribe at this time.
