Almost Jamaica Songtekst Nederlandse Vertaling

She was born in Dakota
Ze werd geboren in Dakota
Where she froze to death each winter
Waar ze elke winter doodvroor
But she dreamed about the islands
Maar ze droomde over de eilanden
By the fire burning splinters
Door het vuur brandende splinters
It was almost Jamaica
Het was bijna Jamaica
Almost paradise
Bijna paradijselijk
It was almost Jamaica
Het was bijna Jamaica
It was almost real nice
Het was bijna heel leuk
So she moved out on the border
Daarom verhuisde ze naar de grens
With the sunshine but no sea breeze
Met de zon maar geen zeewind
Though she could not drink the water
Hoewel ze het water niet kon drinken
Some of the streets were lined with palm trees
Sommige straten waren omzoomd met palmbomen
It was almost Jamaica
Het was bijna Jamaica
Almost paradise
Bijna paradijselijk
It was almost Jamaica
Het was bijna Jamaica
It was almost real nice
Het was bijna heel leuk
Electric fan on the table
Elektrische ventilator op tafel
Shower is her waterfall
Douche is haar waterval
She may never have Jamaica
Misschien zal ze nooit Jamaica krijgen
But in her mind she has it all
Maar in haar gedachten heeft ze het allemaal
It was almost Jamaica
Het was bijna Jamaica
Almost paradise
Bijna paradijselijk
It was almost Jamaica
Het was bijna Jamaica
It was almost real nice
Het was bijna heel leuk
She loved the hurricane warnings
Ze hield van de orkaanwaarschuwingen
And the tropical breeze
En de tropische bries
She loves coconuts and love songs
Ze houdt van kokosnoten en liefdesliedjes
With a little reggae please
Met een beetje reggae alstublieft
It was almost Jamaica
Het was bijna Jamaica
Almost paradise
Bijna paradijselijk
It was almost Jamaica
Het was bijna Jamaica
It was almost real nice
Het was bijna heel leuk
It was almost Jamaica
Het was bijna Jamaica
Almost paradise
Bijna paradijselijk
It was almost Jamaica
Het was bijna Jamaica
It was almost real nice
Het was bijna heel leuk
It was almost Jamaica
Het was bijna Jamaica
Almost paradise
Bijna paradijselijk
It was almost Jamaica
Het was bijna Jamaica
It was almost real nice
Het was bijna heel leuk
