 The little boy went first day of school 
 ذهب الولد الصغير في أول يوم له في المدرسة 
He got some  crayons and started to draw
حصل على بعض أقلام التلوين وبدأ في الرسم
He put  colors all over the paper
لقد وضع الألوان في جميع أنحاء الورقة
For  colors was what he saw
لأن الألوان كانت ما رآه
And the  teacher said.. What you doin' young man
وقال المعلم.. ماذا تفعل أيها الشاب
 I'm paintin' flowers he said
 قال: أنا أرسم الزهور
She said... It's  not the time for art young man 
قالت... إنه ليس وقت الفن أيها الشاب 
And  anyway flowers are green and red
وعلى أية حال فإن الزهور تكون خضراء وحمراء

هناك وقت لكل شيء أيها الشاب

 هناك الكثير من الألوان في السطح 
And  I see  every  one  **riff**
و  أرى  كل  واحدًا  **ريف**
 Well the teacher said.. You're sassy
 حسنًا، قال المعلم.. أنت وقح
There's  ways that things should be done 
هناك طرق لإنجاز الأمور 
And  you'll paint flowers the way they are
وسترسم الزهور كما هي
So  repeat after  me.. 
لذلك كرر بعدي.. 
And she said...
وقالت ...
 Flo  wers are  red young  man  
 فلو هو شاب أحمر  
 Green  leaves are  green  
 الأوراق الخضراء  هي  خضراء  
There's  no need to  see flowers  any other  way
ليست هناك حاجة لرؤية الزهور بأي طريقة أخرى
Than they  way they al  ways  have been  seen
من الطريقة التي شوهدوا بها دائمًا
But the little boy said...
لكن الطفل الصغير قال...
There are  so many  colors in the  rain  bow 
هناك الكثير من الألوان في قوس المطر 
 So many  colors in the  morning  sun
 الكثير من الألوان في شمس الصباح
 So many  colors in the  flo  wer 
 هناك الكثير من الألوان في السطح 
And  I see  every  one  **riff** 
و  أرى  كل  واحدًا  **ريف** 
Well the  teacher put him in a corner 
حسنًا، وضعه المعلم في الزاوية 
She said..  It's for your own good..
قالت.. إنه لمصلحتك..
And you  won't come out 'til you get it right 
ولن تخرج حتى تفهم الأمر بشكل صحيح 
And are  responding like you should
ويتم الرد كما ينبغي
Well  finally he got lonely 
حسنًا، أخيرًا، أصبح وحيدًا 
Frightened  thoughts filled his head
أفكار خائفة ملأت رأسه
And he  went up to that teacher 
وذهب إلى ذلك المعلم 
And  this is what he said.. 
و هذا هو ما قاله..

وقال...
 Flo  wers are  red,  
 فلورز لونها أحمر،

 Time went by like it always does 
 مر الوقت كما يفعل دائمًا 
And they  moved to another town
وانتقلوا إلى مدينة أخرى
And the  little boy went to another school 
وذهب الولد الصغير إلى مدرسة أخرى

وهذا ما وجده
The  teacher there was smilin 
كان المعلم هناك يبتسم 
She said...  Painting should be fun
قالت... الرسم يجب أن يكون ممتعًا
And there are  so many colors in a flower 
وهناك العديد من الألوان في الزهرة 
So  let's use every one
لذلك دعونا نستخدم كل واحد منهم
But that  little boy painted flowers 
لكن ذلك الصبي الصغير رسم الزهور 
In neat  rows of green and red
في صفوف أنيقة من اللون الأخضر والأحمر
And  when the teacher asked him why 
وعندما سأله المعلم عن السبب
