لقد وعد الله بإخراج أولاده من العبودية
He said He'd free them from Pharaoh's evil hand

He said He'd guide and protect them on their journey
وقال إنه سيرشدهم ويحميهم في رحلتهم
And lead them to the promised land
ويقودهم إلى أرض الموعد
God's children were slaves in Egypt land
لقد كان أبناء الله عبيدًا في أرض مصر
So God took Moses by the hand
فأخذ الله بيد موسى
He said Moses tell old Pharaoh to set 'em free
لقد قال أن موسى أخبر فرعون العجوز أن يطلق سراحهم
But Moses wanted a way to get out
لكن موسى أراد طريقة للخروج
Because in his mind he's beginning to doubt
لأنه في ذهنه بدأ الشك
And he said Lord old Pharaoh he ain't a gonna listen to me
وقال إن اللورد فرعون العجوز لن يستمع إلي
Well the Lord said son throw down that rod
حسنًا، قال الرب يا ابني، ارمِ تلك العصا
Old Moses did and he cried to God
فعل موسى العجوز ذلك وصرخ إلى الله
It turned to a snake as evil and wicked as sin
لقد تحول إلى حية شريرة وشريرة كالخطيئة
Then he cried again with an awful wail
ثم بكى مرة أخرى بصرخة فظيعة
And the Lord said seize him by the tail
فقال الرب أمسكوه بذنبه
Old Moses did and it turned to a rod again
فعل موسى العجوز ذلك وتحول إلى عصا مرة أخرى

ويقودهم إلى أرض الموعد
The Lord said Moses I've got power
فقال الرب لموسى لي قوة
And I'll be with you every hour
وسأكون معك كل ساعة
Said go tell Pharaoh to set my children free
قال اذهب قل لفرعون أن يطلق سراح أطفالي
Well Moses did but the Lord helped out
حسنًا، فعل موسى ولكن الرب ساعده
He sent a plague to the land about
أرسل الطاعون إلى الأرض حوالي
So old Pharaoh told him he could go and let him be
لذلك أخبره فرعون العجوز أنه يمكن أن يذهب ويتركه
They started out with a cloud that day
لقد بدأوا بسحابة في ذلك اليوم
And a fire by night to lead the way
ونار ليلا لتقود الطريق
But old Pharaoh suddenly decided to change his mind
لكن فرعون العجوز قرر فجأة أن يغير رأيه
Well he gathered together his soldier band
حسنًا، لقد جمع فرقته العسكرية
Got all them chariots throughout the land
حصلت على كل منهم عربات في جميع أنحاء الأرض
Said I'll let them Israelites go some other time

فقال الرب لموسى ثق بالله
All you gotta do is just raise that rod
كل ما عليك فعله هو رفع هذا القضيب
Over these mighty waters stretch your hand
على هذه المياه العظيمة مد يدك
Well Moses followed the Lord's command
حسنًا، اتبع موسى أمر الرب
The waters parted and there in the sand
انفصلت المياه وهناك في الرمال
They saw a path that led to the other shore

The ground was dry they passed on through
كانت الأرض جافة ومروا عبرها
