طاولة بلوط منحوتة، تحكي حكاية
Of times when kings and queens sipped wine from goblets gold,
في الأوقات التي كان فيها الملوك والملكات يحتسون النبيذ من كؤوس الذهب،
And the brave would lead their ladies from out of the room
وكان الشجعان يقودون سيداتهم خارج الغرفة

A time of valour, and legends born
زمن الشجاعة، وولدت الأساطير
A time when honour meant much more to a man than life
الوقت الذي كان فيه الشرف يعني للرجل أكثر بكثير من الحياة
And the days knew only strife to tell right from wrong
وما عرفت الأيام إلا الفتنة لتعرف الحق من الباطل
Through lance and sword.
من خلال الرمح والسيف.
Why, why can we never be sure till we die
لماذا، لماذا لا يمكننا أن نكون متأكدين حتى نموت
Or have killed for an answer,
أو قتلت من أجل إجابة،
Why, why do we suffer each race to believe
لماذا، لماذا نعاني من كل سباق للاعتقاد
That no race has been grander
أنه لم يكن هناك سباق أعظم
It seems because through time and space
يبدو أنه عبر الزمان والمكان
Though names may change each face retains the mask it wore.
