Wooden Ships Lyrics

Jefferson Airplane Wooden Ships Lyrics

Here is the Airplane's great recording of the Kantner/Stills collaboration. These
are the main chords Paul plays. Jorma solos in E minor pentatonic. If anyone wants
the solo tab, comment and say so. This is pretty easy, you just have to remember
the Cmaj7 in the first verse and the Cmaj7 in the "sail away..." part are
different. I put the chord shapes at the bottom. Have fun.
If you smile at me I would understand
Because that is something
Everyone does everywhere in the same language
I can see by your coat my friend you're from the other side
There's just one thing I've got to know
Can you tell me please, who won?
You must try some of my purple berries
I've been eating them for six or seven weeks now
Haven't got sick once, probably keep us both alive
Wooden ships on the water, very free
Easy, you know the way it's supposed to be
Silver people on the shoreline leave us be
Very free and easy
Sail away where the morning sun goes high
Sail away where the wind blows sweet and young birds fly
Take a sister by her hand, lead her far from this barren land
Horror grips us as we watch you die
All we can do is echo your anguished cries
Stare as all human feelings die
We are leaving you don't need us
Go and take a sister by her hand
Lead her from this foreign land
Somewhere where we might laugh again
We are leaving you don't need us
aj7
Sailing ships on the water very free
Easy you know the way it's supposed to be
Silver people on the shoreline leave us be
Very free and gone
No no no no, no no, no no no
No no no no, no no, no no no
No no no no, no no, no no no
Come ride the music
Come ride the music
Come ride the music
Go ride the music
Go ride the music
Go ride the music
Go ride the music
