This is what I think he plays on the acoustic version of the song.
I am slightly unsure of the CAdd9 and G chords I have transcribed on the
"...with paper faces" part of the verse, but they sound decent to my ears.
The Eb/G and F/A first inversion chords look difficult to play but they
aren't as bad as they look. They do sound better than the standard chords
because they give a nice descending bassline, but they could also be
substituted for the standard Eb and F chords without ruining the chorus.
Note that some of the chords (C, F, etc.) are played as both major and minor
versions during different parts of the song, so pay attention to this in the
tab.
It's a nice song and the way the vocal melody moves over some fairly sharp
key changes is great. Shame about the mullet.
Intro: Play the melody over an A chord
Verse 1:
Closing in on empty spaces, winners laugh too soon
A paper world with paper faces beneath a paper moon.
(Repeat these two parts during the verse until the break to the chorus)
But he hasn't finished with
you yet on another long knife night (break)
Look behind you there's the man you're chasing
dd9
Look behind you let's go human racing human racing
dd9
Let's go racing now
BbAdd9 Am (same as intro)
