Idle Ties Lyrics

Vetiver Idle Ties Lyrics

I'm not sure of all the words. Also, I don't know if I'm in the right key~ my
guitar's decided on a key it likes and there's no budging it, so I've got it in
the key of D simply for my ease of playing. A key-change might be needed to play
along with the original, but I hope these chords work for you if you're playing on
your own or with your band. I hope I've made it all nice and clear. Enjoy. Love, Dan.
VETIVER~ 'IDLE TIES'
INTRO:
{for several bars. 2 strums on the D; 1 on the A. This pattern forms the basis of
the song. I'll show you how many strums to play on the rest of the chords as they
crop up, by putting a number in a twirly bracket next to the chord, eg A means
play 3 strums on an A chord.
VERSE 1:
I walk alone but I feel you there
Smilin' upon me I wonder
What you have drawn on your hands today
Blue wings to show you remember
CHORUS 1:
Idle ties ink and dyes
Woven arms open wide
You're with me tonight
VERSE 2:
Put on a tape that you made for me
It's got Marc Bolan and Vashti
Ring in my ear like a mission bell
Come we'll go dive in the inkwell
CHORUS 2:
Idle ties sink and slide
Token charms kept nearby
You're with me tonight
MIDDLE 8:
VERSE 3:
Now the wind answers your telephone
Call her 'n' sing the city's soft moan
Well it'll get to her once you're underground
Signal can't carry in the train down
CHORUS 3:
Idle ties sink and slide
Woven arms open wide
You're with me tonight
