Two Coins Lyrics
I've only seen one sets of chords out here on the internet but they didn't sound quite
right so I studied Dallas Green play it live and acoustic and made my own version which I
believe is correct.
CHORDS
Am7 C/G Em Dsus2/F# Em7 Em7* (don't know the actual name)
Intro (relative to the capo)
2x (strumming instead of picking) 1x (listen for the strumming)
G--0-0--0----0------0h2----2h4---|-0--0---0--0h2--2p0--0h2--2h4--4p2--2p0|
D--0-2--2h4--4h5----5------5-----|-2--2p0-0---0----0----0----0----0---0--|
The whole intro part is played twice.
When playing Am7 he does pulloffs and hammer ons with his 1st finger on the B string and
also hammers on with his pinky on the high e string on the 3rd
fret. When playing C with the G base he first does a pull off and a hammer on
with on the B string, then with the 2nd finger on the D string and after
that a pull off with his 4th finger on A string but if you do this you must move your
second finger to the A string which makes a new chord which I can't name for the life of
me. Play around with these, he
does them different every time.
Northwest is where I'm headed,
Underneath the golden sky
I'm searching for a wisdom
That every man seeks to find
I've got wicked thoughts a brewin'
Many evil deeds I've done
I'm looking for a reason
For a reason not to run
Chorus (notice the Em7 isn't a regular one)
I've always been dark
Dsus/2F# Em7 -> Em7*(slide)
With light somewhere in the distance
I've got no destination
No place to call my own
I'll explore the constellations
Till I find the course I mean to hone
But come fever or come famine
Come the biting winter cold
Just put two coins upon my eyelids
So I can pay the poor man's toll
I've always been dark
Dsus/2F# Em7 -> Em7*(slide)
With light somewhere in the distance
I've been so unforgiving
Dsus/2F# Em7 -> Em7*(slide)
Stranded in old traditions
I've always been dark
Dsus/2F# Em7 -> Em7*(slide)
With light somewhere in the distance
Played twice
I've always been dark
Dsus/2F# Em7 -> Em7*(slide)
With light somewhere in the distance
