Stray Cats Race With the Devil Lyrics

It's like being addicted to meth or something. I can't help
but tab more and more Stray Cats. The challenge is
a lot of fun. This is another overlooked Stray Cats song,
(just like most of their stuff unfortunately). And, it's yet
another beautifully executed cover of Gene Vincent's original.
There is a key change towards the end of the song from E to F#.
I'll let you know where that is. The thing about any of these
songs is that it still sounds great if you are practicing
at a slower speed. Of course, I can't play it at full speed
but I'm getting there. Listen carefully for the changes in the
3 ridiculous solos. Most of the song is just soloing anyway.
The verses are fairly easy to figure out. Strums
are not exact. Lets go!
**STAR THE SONG PLAYING ON THE MIDDLE POSITION ON YOUR PICKUP SELECTOR**
INTRO:
VERSE:
"Well I've led an evil life, so they say....."
Maj
"Move, hot-rod, move man.."
VERSE 2: (actually played a little differently, there's a little double
stop fill in there. You should have no problems finding where he plays it)
SOLO 1: (brace yourselves..there are pauses during this which
should make it easier to follow)
(he does this pull off lick A LOT)
Repeat VERSE 1
SOLO 2: (switch to the bottom position of pickup selector and
try to pick closer to the bridge pickup to achieve the sound)
SOLO 3: (switch back to middle position on pickup selector)
(switch to bottom position on pickup selector)
VERSE 3: (key change to F#)
END:
Wow. Alright guys. That's it for that one. Like they always say:
If you can play it slow, you CAN play it. Man, do I need to
tell myself that during this song if I get frustrated. Up next,
surprise surprise. Another Stray Cats song. This time it will be
Runaway Boys. Let me know what you think! Have fun!
