On CD the song is played in a lower tuning (Eb). I here put it in standard tuning.
If you want to play along with the song, than you need to either tune your guitar
half a note lower, or make a copy of the song in higher pitch, using some
free sound editing software (Audacity). That's a lot easier than retuning all the
time.

D add9 sus4 x54030 (for short Dadd9..)
Em7 022030 (I like 02x030, because the basses come out stronger)
The strumming rhythm is very important: The first short strums should be on the bass
tones only and the short strums for the rest of the measure should emphasis the
higher tones (while playing the base strings as well. Although it varies all the time
(just listen well), in a 16th measure it is basically like this
