Metric IOU Lyrics

METRIC - IOU
Ok, here are two versions of IOU, they're basically the same, but pick which one sounds
to you - pick up the rythm by listening to the song.
-Uqbar
Verison 1
Sample strumming pattern: (on G#5 for instance...)
Okay, that sucks... well i am just trying to reiterate the use of the
higher notes...
Anyways, the actual song...
(guitar and vocals start)
old world underground, where are you now?
subtract my age from the mileage on my speeding heart, credit cards,
accelerate, accumulate, looked for you downtown
wound up in a movie with no story
now it's late, and you are nowhere to be found
Bass line:
hesitation's always mine
hesitate outside the times
with all i don't say, with all i don't do
i'm sending you
invitations to
hesitate to...
every ten-year-old enemy soldier thinks
falling bombs are shooting stars sometimes but she doesn't make wishes on them
when she wishes, she wishes for less ways
to wish for, more ways to work toward it
ten-year-old enemy soldier thinks
our falling bombs are her shooting stars...
in
hesitation's always mine
(Bass line comes in)
hesitate outside the times
oh, call me or drop me a line,
(First two stanza's from bassline)
say you've been with me
in
say you've been with me
(Back to full Bassline)
in
say you've been with me this whole time
old world underground, i never knew you
but i've seen your face everywhere there was a farm, before we tore the small town down
(To Outro:)
multiply, divide...
(solo is here over the outro)
D5 - F#5 (till the end)
Veriosn 2
Here are the chords used:
B G# D D F# G G Bmin Bmin F#maj *** Emaj Emin
the lower (deeper) notes 3 times, then strum all of them on the 4th
strum. I love the sound of the F# with the high open notes. heh!
I don't think this is totally accurate, (I think he players the
chords higher up on the neck) but it's good enough for me :)

VERSE Bass line:
Might be a note different or something, but I usually just
strum full chords here anyways. It's much easier to sing
along with for me. But that's me. I'm going to split them up
into sections (parts), add a section he missed, and input
easier notes to hit if you don't like stretching your fingers
(like me). You can hit these notes instead of the ones
below them. These notes will be in brackets of course.
