Sunflower Lyrics

I once kissed a sunflower
and stroked her petalled hair
there were many others
growing in the flower bed
tulips and daffodils
growing there
morning glory and daisies
blooming there
all the other flowers
were so delicate and sweet
but I hardly noticed them
for they were at my feet
sunflower looked at me
eye to eye
sunflower smiled
a smile so wide
that it was the biggest smile
that could ever be
I wanted to pick her
and to take her home with me
but if I picked her
she soon will die
so I decided to leave her lie
and I would gather morning dew
and spread it on her thin
then I bought a garden plot
and gently moved her in
we were alone and the day was done
