Francis: Standard Tuning
Richard: Open G- Capo 5th Fret
I have BASED this tablature on the live
version that can be found on Youtube.
Although Rick fill in between the words most of the time,
I have written down how he would play the chords.
Ricky has this little riff that goes:
Chords (Rick):
Chords (Francis-with Chorus):
Intro (Francis):
Main-On the record a C is played at the beginning of the verse.
Live, he misses it out:
Oh Oh Oh Oh (Oh Oh Oh Oh)
The waters gettin deep
And I can't swim
'Cos its dirty dirty water
Oh Oh Oh Oh (Oh Oh Oh Oh)
Many's the time I ask you to say
Why do you feel so bad day to day
Could it be you're wrong
To push yourself along
I say it's not a guess
You make yourself a mess
And get yourself in deeper water
Bass comes in playing the root note twice to each chord.
Why do you think it's all wrong for you
Maybe it's in somethings that you do
Baby, it's alright
To stay up every night
If I could change your mind
I'd bring you back in line
To do the things you really oughta
Whole band in full swing...
Bass does something like this:
Oh oh oh oh the water's getting deep
And I can't swim
If I could can I come in?
Oh Oh Oh Oh the water's getting deep
And I can't swim
Because it's dirty, dirty water
Oh Oh Oh Oh
Oh Oh Oh Oh
Solo: |C| |G| |C| |C| |C| |G| |C| |C|
Why do you think it's all wrong for you
Maybe it's in somethings that you do
Baby, it's alright
To stay up every night
If I could change your mind
I'd bring you back in line
To do the things you really oughta
Oh Oh Oh Oh the water's getting deep
And I can't swim
If I could can I come in?
Oh Oh Oh Oh the water's getting deep
And I can't swim
Because it's dirty, dirty water Oh Oh Oh Oh
The odd 7th chord appears on the track.
They don't always play it live though.
This tab is a good mixture of the two.
E-mail me if you want me to put it into bars for you.
