Status Quo Little White Lies Lyrics

* Little White Lies *
Parfitt
Great song with beatiful harmonies. There is a guitar playing
small intervals palm muted throughout the song. There is an acoustic
guitar strumming all the chords (yes, all the chords, not just
three!). And a few overdubs. It might be that the acoustic guitar
is played with a capo on the fifth fret. I will give you a version
without a capo but the chords can be difficult to place. You can
use the easier to play alternatives. I can give you some if you need
'em.
When you see Bb/D it means you have to play a Bflat major triad with
a D in the bass. For the harmonic feel it's important that you play
the chord that way. That harmony is too beautiful to ignore. Not when
you're playing it with your band ofcourse cause your bassplayer can
play it then.
1. Chords and rythm
Intro: F Fsus4 C7sus4(no root) C7(no root)
Verse: F(I) F(II) Bb Gm7 Gm
Chorus: F(I) C Bb C11 C7

I will not go to deep into the part for the acoustic guitar.
You can find the intro in the Tab-part. I will give you an
example how you can play it throughout the song:
Example: C-chord (alternate up and downstrokes)

You were not home last night

I won't try
any- more
verse 2:
(I)
It's been a long time now

since we were close to- gether
I see the distance in your eyes

Just shout it out and I'll sur-vive

Rythm guitar
Here follows the part for the palm muted guitar playing all the

while using only downstrokes. Most of the notes are straight eights.
