Fallow Lyrics

The Weakerthans Fallow Lyrics

Heres a very under-rated song off The Weakerthans Fallow album. Its a simple but
song so I tabbed it out
for anyone who would care to play it.
This is how I play the song. I incorporated the guitar melodies into the picking style.
may not be
exact as the album since I simplified chords to make it easy to play on one guitar. But
the parts are
there and the differences are pretty much un-noticible.
I tabbed out the intro, main melody/picking, the pre instrumental, and instrumental at
end. Otherwise I
just wrote the chords so you can sing along easier.
On the album:
The verses are played like the melody part
The ( Am - G - F - etc. ) progressions are played like the pre-instrumental part
tabbed (same fingerings).
Otherwise its pretty simple to figure out.
I hope someone finds this tab useful. Please comment/rate. Let me know what you think!
Fallow - The Weakerthans
Capo: 2nd Fret
Intro:
Melody:
Back to Start of melody
Pre-First Verse:
Wait until the day says it's closing
and public is put away.
Write by the light of a pay phone
your list of I meant to say
Like winter comes too soon
or "Radiators hum out of tune
Out under the Disraeli
with rusty train track ties
we'll carve new streets and sidewalks
a city for small lives
and say that we'll stay for one more year
Wait near the end of September
Wait for some stars to show
Try so hard not to remember
what all empty playgrounds know
that sympathy is cruel
Reluctant jester or simpering fool
But six feet off the highway
our bare legs stung with wheat
we'll dig a hole and bury
all we could not defeat
and say that we'll stay for one more year
Bend to tie a shoelace
or bend against your fear
and say that you'll stay for one more year
**At this point in the song he plays the melody part twice through**
Pre Instrumental:
With so much left to seek
the lease runs out next week
Outro/Instrumental Melody
**Slide only played first time through
Final Line:
**Hold Last Chord
